Concept: “Brilliant! ”

A word I brought home with me from Ireland. The Irish use the adjective like Americans use “awesome”. ..frequently. I favor the many possible meanings.

Objectives:
1) create a piece that could be hung vertical or horizontal.

2) Speak to the dual influences of both my residency in Ireland,  as well as my intent to be “home for the summer.”

“Home” itself is a tricky concept for me in my current stage of life. I am exploring “place” in relation to one’s identity. 25 years growing up in the Pacific NW, 35 years an Alaskan, 4 years in  Colorado,  with half of those 4 years “untethered,” on the road with Nard, exploring the 4 corners of America, each region with an eye for, “could this be ‘home’?”

3) Paint this piece “without knowing,” for no one but me.

4) Commit to posting my day by day progress on this “brilliant” project…stay tuned!
